Workplace Health and Safety Signs

Occupational safety hazard has been a increasingly subject of conversation. I have personal experience of friend/relatives that have left their lives trying to make a living while working in unsafe working environment.

Safety sign in your workplace are design to prevent potential injuries and accident which could affect your company operation. There are several types of signs to warn about problematic situation.

Health and safety signs would indicate special caution to observe when coming in or crossing thru an area. Indicating what precaution should be observed in order to get the job done without leaving your life trying to achieve it.

Chemical safety signs would primarily explain the danger of a special area dedicated to handle such material. Also those same area should have safety equipment  readily available for employee to protect them from the exposure of such chemical.

Electrical safety signs are another type that are design to warn by-standard of potential hazard. Lock out/tag out (LOTO) equipment should be used when machinery need inspection or repair. Failure to use LOTO equipment can and will result in catastrophic outcome when someone is inspecting equipment and someone else turn the machinery on because of production issue.

Proper signage not only benefit your enterprise in keeping your employee safe but also give a reassuring atmosphere to visitor and employees alike. Your workplace need and deserve proper Health and safety signs.

A monthly safety inspection should be conduct to spot any safety hazard that might be waiting upon a victim. The inspection should be complete as per a pre-built checklist and filled by rotating personnel.

Any hazard or defect reported on the monthly safety inspection need to be address, either by buying new equipment or rectifying to problem noted. Keeping a log of all defect found and corrective action that were undertaken to rectify the problem is a good business practice, could also be mandatory depending of your workplace safety policy.
